Pilates and the GYROTONIC® method:

Pilates and GYROTONIC® are both fitness systems comprised of strengthening and stretching exercises. While each system is unique, they complement each other perfectly.

The aim is to promote your body's optimal health of movement, improve your posture, and gain strength and stamina. Exercises are done on a mat with props as well as on specialized GRATZ Pilates and GYROTONIC® equipment.

Keswick Pilates is the only studio in the Charlottesville area to offer the Authentic Pilates Method on GRATZ equipment. Many clients are not familiar with how various Pilates training methods differ from each other. While many studios offer classes called "Pilates", quite often the content of the class is comprised of modalities that are not actually part of the Pilates Method. Most clients are also unaware of the quality difference between different brands of Pilates equipment. After 17 years of experience, Romina has hand-picked the highest quality Pilates equipment available. GRATZ equipment is unparalleled in its design and craftsmanship. It's dimensions are patented to directly complement Authentic Pilates exercises. After all, if you use the best tool available for any endeavor, you obtain the best possible results. Come try it for yourself and Feel the Difference!

Keswick Pilates is also the only studio in the Charlottesville area to offer both Pilates and the GYROTONIC® Method. This Method is unique because it departs from linear and isolated modes of exercise. Body movements within the GYROTONIC® Method emphasize multiple joint articulations in 3-dimensional and circular motions. The aim is to optimize range of motion while strengthening muscles and joints to support that mobility. Often described as a combination of Tai-Chi, swimming, dance, and yoga, the GYROTONIC® Method has been around since the 1970's and is increasingly gaining popularity among professional athletes throughout the world. And just like Pilates, these sessions can be modified to benefit anybody at any level of fitness.
